Dates on Paper

03.27.2020

The T.V. turned on. Static. No show. No noise. Just a silent static...

I sat in a room with an empty table except these papers written with dates on them. Just dates. Nothing more. Someone sat in front of the TV. Phone out. Looking at me and the phone. I don't know who it was.

I walked towards the person and the figure faded away. I was left with nothing but the papers of dates in my hands. A voice talked, "I need to delete these. These are fucked up to have." I asked, "Why?" The papers started to fly away. I ran towards the papers as if they were important and they started to fade away.

The figure slowly appeared again and stood on the table.

The papers were underneath the figure's foot. "They are my past" and I asked, "Why? They are past memories you never wanted to leave."

I get a gentle touch on my hand and I asked; "Why do you want to delete those pasts now and not consider it in the beginning?" Silent. No answer. "Should I not care what I currently have? Should I stay away?" The gentle hands caressed my shoulders and told me not to leave.

The papers appeared in my hands again. I ripped them and asked what the dates were. Silent. The figure was gone. "Why do you want me to stay when you don't want to leave your past in the beginning? Why are you taking action now? Why is it fucked up now? Why was my voice not important before?"

A voice said, "I never said it was fucked up." and I laughed; "You just said it a while ago before you took your action. Why do you not remember that all of a sudden?"

Silence.

I started to walk away, not knowing where I was walking. I felt nothing. I felt empty. I asked; "Is this another test?"
