Black and White Tie Event

The different tones of chuckles roared through the air of an event that seemed important. It was a black and white event. Suits after suits, well-groomed men walked along each other exchanging business cards while conversing interesting topics of data analytic finds. Elegant gowns sweep the floor clean from women who held their confidence up to their chin. 

The event was beautiful. Bubbles danced as people drink the liquid that held them. A low murmur of jazz kept everyone cool. Where was I? I looked at my hands. Black gloves with a red emerald wrapped around my wrist. I wore a black slit dress that hugged every part of my body. I was surrounded by five men. Exchanging what sounded like ideas of many kinds of topics. I laughed and enjoyed my conversations of both good and bad ideas to these unknowns. 

I was part of this event. Why am I here though? What is my purpose here?

A pull tugged my right arm. "I thought it was you. You always seem to break necks wherever you go. Just like I remembered." It was Jake and I smiled.

"Look at you. Whoever you paid to get you to look this handsome needs to get a raise." -Me
"Thanks, it was all me." -Jake
"Impressive. Your style peeked. You look handsome like always." -Me
"Look at you. Just..wow. You've always been attractive, and I can see that you still have it." -Jake

We conversed on many topics of the past. Laughed and enjoyed our company. Remembering that I was with the 5 men, I introduced Jake to them. Having them exchange numbers and business cards. Each one of them looked thrilled to work with him. I felt thrilled for Jake. Making connections and continuing his passion. I felt proud of him.

"Did you drive here?" -Jake
"I took UBER and will take UBER back. Why? What's up?" -Me
"Let me drive you home and before you say a word, I will take your answer as a yes." -Jake 

Grabbing my hands ever so softly and pulling me in closer to him. We said our goodbyes to all that attended. Giving him verbal directions to lead me to my home sweet home. 

"Did you just move here?" -Jake
"Actually, yes. How did you know that?" -Jesse
"..because I live next to you."-Jake

Shocked but thrilled all at the same time. I stayed silent. 

"This is great! We can spend time with each other more now." -Jake

Walking me to my doorstep. He pulled me closer to him. The world felt like peace. As if nothing mattered. All the problems, are gone. "I'm happy you're safe and near me again. I haven't seen you for many years now. I even thought I lost you."-Jake 

--My alarm wakes me up at 3am. Handing me the first thought of the day of him.

03.27.2020 The T.V. turned on. Static. No show. No noise. Just a silent static... I sat in a room with an empty table except these papers written with dates on them. Just dates. Nothing more. Silenced Eyes

03.25.2020 I was in a hallway. Super dark but enough to kinda see that it's a hallway. I had nothing to see with. I remember making sure my right hand and my right foot were touching the wall. To guide me where I am and not get lost (to know for myself that I was walking forward and only forward. The purpose of touching the wall with my foot was to make sure I would be able to pinpoint a socket which allows me to know that I'm either inside or outside a building). I don't know why I did that whole 'touch the wall' thing but that's just what I did when I couldn't see anything. When I kept walking forward I started to get really nervous and a little scared. The air started to feel heavy and I still couldn't hear or see anything.  I started to hear this whisper behind me calling my name. It was so chilling that I started to sprint. The whisper started to become louder and it started to feel like this voice had malicious intent from my past triggers...
